VOLA is al een aantal jaar een vast gegeven binnen het progressieve metal/rock genre. Met ijzersterke releases als Inmazes en Applause of a Distant Crowd heeft de band een prachtige, unieke sound gecreëerd waar je elke keer aandachtig naar blijft luisteren en dat mij in ieder geval nooit heeft teleurgesteld. Zo ook de nieuwe single Straight Lines niet, dat nu twee maanden na de track Head Mounted Sideways uitgebracht wordt.
Met de release van Straight Lines wordt meteen ook het nieuwe VOLA album aangekondigd, Witness, dat op 21 mei uit zal komen via Mascot Records. Met singles als Head Mounted Sideways en Straight Lines als voorbode, kan het zomaar zijn dat dit een van de beste albums van 2021 gaat worden!

Info: Danish/Swedish prog rockers VOLA return to action with a brand new video for Straight Lines. The song is taken from the quartet's upcoming album Witness, which will be released through Mascot Records on May 21.
Witness comes nearly three years after the release of Applause of a Distant Crowd, which saw the band go deep into the rabbit-hole, exploring society’s distractions from thoughtfulness and examined the way human relationships have evolved.
The new album goes a step further, shining a light on the subject of failed relationships, on a societal scale — the friction between leaders and followers, caused by the misuse of power.
Witness will be released digitally, on CD, and on 3 different vinyl colors. It has been produced by the band and was mixed and mastered by the Grammy nominated Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amaranthe).
