Met de namen Fieke van den Hurk, Laura Fella, en Fiona Rüggeberg, werd Tvinna in 2019 gelanceerd als een muzikaal project dat een ode aan de innerlijke kracht van de vrouw moet brengen. Een project met deze drie dames kan niet anders dan opvallen in de folk scene.
Het is dan ook niet verrassend dat fans van deze doorgewinterde muzikanten de ontwikkelingen rondom dit project op de voet volgen en organisatoren ze nauwlettend in de gaten houden. Zeker toen begin 2020 drummer/percussionist Jasper Barendregt en gitarist Rafael Salzmann aan de lineup werden toegevoegd werd de spanning rond om nieuwe releases steeds groter.
Als groot fan van Fiekes werk heb ook ik heb alle ontwikkelingen en releases op de voet gevolgd. Toen 4 december 2020 het nummer Kreiz gelanceerd werd was ik op slag verliefd. Kreiz is een hele mooie combinatie van folk, metal, sound effects en boven alles van zang. De ‘dark folk metal’ die dit nummer neerzet is niet iets dat je even luistert. Nee Kreiz moet je voelen en ervaren en dan vooral op standje “heel hard”.
Helaas zijn er maar twee nummers van Tvinna te luisteren. Gelukkig zal een album er ook snel komen, One - In the Dark, wordt gelanceerd op 19 februari 2020.

What it means to embrace being a woman, to trust. Earth needs us. Now more than ever.

We bring the sound of feminine spirit, soul and strength - also remembering others of this ancient power.
The four of us are a circle, a community, a gathering. We’ve woven the threads women have started to spin centuries ago. We’ve woven them into waveforms - the shape of music.
By using the pureness of the voice and the sonic world that music creates, we set out to resurrect, to heal and to awaken what has been made to slumber.
With our music we unleash this female force within every one of us - to strengthen and to comfort whoever is willing to feel and receive it, whoever is in need.
