Speaking on the new song, the band says “"Coming Out Swinging" is a very special track to us for many reasons. It is the first song we ever showed to Nick Hexum at the beginning of our writing partnership. We had been stuck on the chorus and where to go with it, we knew we liked "Coming Out Swinging" as a lyric and as an idea, since we are both lifelong baseball fans and still play whenever we get the chance. Finally being able to tie our loves of baseball and music together in one track was very cool. After taking a listen, Nick sent back the updated chorus, and boom the song was born. He has an amazing talent for taking a look at a song and then knowing exactly what it needs.”
Hailing from St. Petersburg, Florida, The Ries Brothers (pronounced “Rees”) are a force to be reckoned with. The dynamic duo of Charlie and Kevin Jordan Ries blend rock, blues, funk, and reggae into a soulful and sophisticated sound. Today, the alternative rockers have released a new song, “Coming Out Swinging,” co-written with Nick Hexum (311) and produced by Phil Joly (The Kills, Daft Punk). The band also is thrilled to share that they have signed on with Hexum’s SKP Records. On their new single, a hint of what’s to come later this year, the band flex their songwriting muscles.
