Tot hun invloeden behoren bands als Uriah Heep en Jethro Tull, naast nog wat namen uit de jaren zeventig. Voor het eerst snap en hoor ik nu waarom er naar deze bands werd verwezen in de pr teksten. In Winter Solstice zit nl. een flute die prominent aanwezig is en de vintage/classic rock vibe bepaalt al langer de sfeer van de nummers. Nu kunnen ze hier nog wat lichte jazzinvloeden aan toevoegen. Verrassend, maar héél leuk.

Siena Root recently celebrated the first anniversary of their latest offering, »Revelation« (released on February 24, 2023). Before the Swedish root rockers embark on this year's touring leg in support of the album, they have shared the music video for their 'Winter Solstice' track off the same record, which features flutist Lisa Isaksson. The cheery song might also be performed live by the group at their next shows since fans had the chance to vote for their favourite songs as part of the preparations for Siena Root's shows at KuBa (Jena, DE, March 14-16). Also bringing special guests on stage, those three nights will be one for the books because the band will record the follow-up to their highly praised »Root Jam« live album (2011); tickets are still available!
