De terugkeer van Muse eerder dit jaar, werd stevig op ons los gelaten met hun eerste single Won't Stand Down uit het aankomende album Will Of The People dat eraan komt op 26 augustus. Won't Stand Down was een schot in de roos voor de Muse fans van het eerste uur waaronder ikzelf. Eindelijk weer een rock nummer met een laag metal eroverheen gegoten, zalig! Dit hadden we de laatste jaren toch gemist toen ze meer de synthpop-poprock weg ingegaan waren. Wie dacht dat het aankomende album een stevig metal album ging worden, is eraan voor de moeite! De nieuwe single Compliance laat ons voelen dat er ook weer catchy tunes aan bod zullen komen. Compliance gaat over een manipulerende overheid en de weerbaarheid van het volk. Volgens zanger Matt Bellamy zal het nieuwe album een mix worden van metal, catchy popsongs en pianonummers. Ergens hoop ik wel dat het rockgehalte er zal uitspringen zodat we terug luidkeels kunnen meebrullen op festivals. Nu maar hopen dat ze halt houden hier in België en Nederland met de nieuwe plaat.
