Sounds | Miranda Lambert, Settling Down (acoustic)

Miranda Lambert continues her reign as the most nominated female artist in ACM history as she received five nominations for the 56th ACM Awards Friday.

Lambert earned her 15th nomination in the Female Artist of the Year category, which she has won a record-setting nine times, while her No. 1 hit “Bluebird” was nominated for Single, Song, and Video of the Year. Lambert earns an additional nod as a songwriter on the track, along with co-writers Natalie Hemby and Luke Dick. “Bluebird” has earned more than 260 million on-demand streams and was named one of the 2020’s best songs by Billboard, Taste of Country, The Boot, Sounds like Nashville, and more after earning the same accolades in 2019 from Rolling Stone and the Nashville Scene. The “poetic, introspective, and hopeful” (MusicRow ) smash landed at No. 15 on Billboard’s year-end Hot Country Songs chart.

These nominations follow a whirlwind 2020, which saw “Bluebird” top the charts at Lambert’s seventh career No. 1 radio single and earn a CMA Award for Music Video of the Year. The “spacious, atmospheric number” (Rolling Stone) also earned Lambert nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, where her universally-acclaimed No. 1 album Wildcard is also up for Best Country Album. The superstar ranked No. 3 on Billboard’s 2020 Top Country Artists – Female chart.

Meanwhile, Lambert’s latest single “Settling Down” continues its climb at radio, currently within the Top 25. She recently released the track’s romantic accompanying music video, which features husband Brendan McLoughlin as well as her horse, Gibson, and one of her many rescue dogs, Delta Dawn.
