Sounds | Laurence Jones - You're Not Alone

Gitaar, bas, drums en zang, meer is niet nodig voor een stevige pot bluesrock. Alweer eens zo'n band die je vooral live aan het werk wil zien. En dat kan in november: heel wat keuze in NL + eentje in BE.

Speaking on his latest fusion of blues and rock, Laurence Jones comments:

“This song is about the everyday struggles in life, about feeling down but always knowing you’re not the only one going through something difficult;” says Jones. “I had this image when writing the song, that we are all in this together, and no matter who you are, or where you’re from… Everyone feels low from time to time.”

“I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, where the guitar riffs are iconic and a huge part of the song. I’d like to think I’ve put a slightly modern touch on this, while staying authentic. It’s one of my favourite tracks on the album, and it was one of the first songs I wrote, which helped shape the entire record. There’s nothing I love more than a big riffs and wild guitar solos!”

Laurence has shared stages with the likes of Status Quo, Sir Van Morrison, Sir Ringo Starr, the late Jeff Beckand Johnny Winter, Joe Bonamassa, Wishbone Ash, Glenn Hughes, and Vintage Trouble among many others. In 2017, Buddy Guy, who once likened Laurence to “a young Eric Clapton”, invited the youngster to join him onstage at the Holland International Blues Festival before of an audience of 15,000. Jones has also appeared at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London and New York’s Carnegie Hall.
