Het leuke aan deze 'job' is dat je soms uit geheel onverwachte hoek pareltjes toegestuurd krijgt. Vooral van hier nog zo goed als onbekende, jonge muzikanten zoals deze 2 Slovaakse talenten. Het was even wennen aan hun sobere, breekbare jazzpop, maar eenmaal gewoon aan die zachte, soulvolle stem van Kristina - hoor ik een zweem van Birdy? - was het puur genieten. De inkleuring door Jakub op diverse instrumenten is trouwens prachtig.
Het gelijknamig getitelde album verschijnt op 7 juli in eigen beheer.

Kristin Lash & Jakob Grey are among the most outstanding young personalities of the Slovak music scene. Through passionate, soulful and emotive vocals, accompanied by vulnerable lyrics, bright harmonies, and massive pop hooks, they have made a name for themselves, making it impossible to ignore. Despite their surprisingly young age (Kristin 23 and Jakob 24), they have already played a large number of concerts and have collaborated with many important names on the music scene in Slovakia, Czech Republic, France, Belgium, or Germany. Their musical versatility is also confirmed by the fact that they arranged and produced the whole album themselves. Their ability to deliver ingenuity to their expression sets them apart today`s music and fashion-style trends, lets them stand out, and makes them sound so special. Originally named Kristina Mihalova & Jakub Sedivy, they performed in front of world stars such as Stanley Clarke or Candy Dulfer at Slovak biggest music festivals. In 2019 they won the Bratislava Jazz Days contest for Young Artists and JazzStartUp 2019 contest. They supported Dianne Reeves, who chose them as her support at Bratislava City Sounds Festival in November 2019. In 2017 they received Discovery of the Year award at the New Faces of Slovak Jazz contest. Also performed in Paris, Brussels, Lyon and are invited to play festivals in Athens, Rome, Ascona, and others. They were nominated for the prestige Radio_Head Awards poll in the Discovery of the year 2019 category and received a special award of Advance Investments Foundation.
