Sanaton Maa is de derde single die Korpiklaani uitbrengt van hun aankomende album; Jylhä. Het is ook de derde music video waarin we dezelfde hoofdacteur zien terugkomen. Nu, Korpiklaani maakt overwegend muziek in het Fins en mijn Fins gaat helaas niet veel verder dan hei, perkele en hei hei, dus ik versta er geen hol van, maar het klinkt wel goed! Gelukkig hebben ze wel een Engelstalige vertaling toegevoegd onder de clip, al heb ik het gevoel dat ik daar niet enorm veel wijzer uit ben geworden. Hun nieuwe album komt overigens uit op 5 februari en is nu al vooruit te bestellen.
”Sanaton maa is meant to be throwback to 80’s with folky twist: I wanted to write a classic sounding mid-tempo hair metal song with killer chorus that include all the elements I like to hear in a good song. While listening this I can still travel back in time onto back seat of an old Honda Accord that was cosmetically fixed with way too much of putty and it barely worked….on the other hand that wasn’t a matter because it was also tuned up with woofers more expensive than the car. DIRECTOR'S WORD: "Sanaton maa" is the third Korpiklaani video with the same main character and this time I wanted to tell something about his profession. In this video we see a blacksmith with his young apprentice, to whom he is now passing his knowledge. On the way to the smith, the boy sees something stunning under the water. As a warning, man decides to tell him an old legend about what happened at the same spot a long time ago. But does our apprentice really listen...

Korpiklaani is een Finse Folkmetalband ontstaan uit de band Shaman. Hun specialiteit is het vermengen van de traditionele Finse folkmuziek 'humppa' met metal, hoewel de nadruk niet alleen op de metal ligt zoals bij de meeste andere folkmetalbands. De songteksten behandelen mythologische thema's, de natuur en feesten. In tegenstelling tot de songs van Shaman die in het Noord-Samisch (de taal van de Noord-Samen) waren, neemt Korpiklaani de songs afwisselend in het Engels en Fins op.
