Geen nieuw materiaal van deze leuke doom metal band, wel een selectie tracks die enerzijds zeldzaam zijn, zoals het epische A Conversation With Death, anderzijds drie uitstekende live opnames. Kenners van de band weten welke klasse ze mogen verwachten. Wie de band nog niet kent: traditionele doom metal met een moderne touch en een al bij al positieve vibe. Of klinkt dat bizar? Oh ja, de cover van Rainbow In The Dark overtreft het origineel: weg met de lullige keys en focus op de gitaren. Zelf vocaal valt het best mee, al kan je Dio zelf niet toppen natuurlijk.

"Doomed Heavy Metal", is a unique collection of songs from the quartet. Side A includes a brand new cover of 'Rainbow in the Dark'as well as a pair of rare singles--'A Conversation with Death' from the band’s 7” split with Spirit Adrift and 'Empty Throne' from the Decibel Magazine Flexi Series. Side B highlights the power and emotional intensity the group wields onstage with a selection of live recordings from 2018’s Two Nights of Doomed Heavy Metal showcasing one song from each of Khemmis' albums.
