De (plaats)naam Nashville wordt nog steeds met veel eerbied uitgesproken. Het blijft immers de bakermat van de Amerikaanse country(rock)- en bluesmuziek en bracht al heel wat muzieklegendes voort.
Of Jax Hollow zich daar op termijn bij zal weten te scharen zal de toekomst uitwijzen.
De kans dat u, net als ik, nog niet eerder van deze jongedame heeft gehoord is momenteel nog groot. Ze heeft nog maar één EP op haar naam staan en voor zover ik kan terugvinden heeft ze ook nog nooit als headliner in Europa gespeeld. Maar misschien komt daar met deze nieuwe single en het aankomende album (releasedatum 5 mei 2023) wel verandering in.
Wolf in Sheepskin klinkt fris en sprankelend maar is toch geworteld in de Nashville sound van de 60's en 70's. Haar stem doet denken aan Sheryl Crow maar ook aan Lzzy Hale (in de uithalen) en Heart's Ann Wilson.
Eentje om in het oog te houden dus.
