Meester bluesgitaristen ... er zijn er in deze tijden veel te weinig van. Voor hun gouden jaren moeten we toch alweer zo'n veertig, vijftig jaar terug gaan in de muziekgeschiedenis.
Wat natuurlijk niet wil zeggen dat ze er tegenwoordig niet meer zijn, zo van die gitaristen die hun Gibson Les Paul (om echt te zijn moet het er één zijn van voor 1959 heb ik mij laten vertellen) laten schreeuwen en huilen op de tonen van de blues. En ik ontdek ze maar al te graag!
Jared James Nichols is zo'n meesterlijke shredder. En nog een relatief jonge ook. Toch is hij voor zichzelf al een aardige carrière aan het opbouwen. Hij bracht reeds twee full albums, EP's en een handvol singles uit en deelt regelmatig het podium of speelt in het voorprogramma van grootheden als Zakk Wylde, Slash, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Walter Trout, en ga zo maar door.
Bovendien is hij al sinds enkele jaren ambassadeur voor Gibson met zelfs zijn eigen signature model, genaamd Old Glory.
De single Hard Wired werd reeds in april uitgebracht maar nu pas werd er een video voor gemaakt. Een goede reden voor ons om deze excellente blues track nog eens in de kijker te zettten. Een volledig nieuw album zou voor zeer binnenkort zijn. Meer details en een release datum volgen spoedig.

And while he may be just in the beginning stages of his career, Nichols has already picked up plenty of rabid acolytes along the way, whether they’ve turned on and tuned in to his electrifying riff-‘n’-roll from records like his 2015 debut, "Old Glory & the Wild Revival" or the 2018 follow up "Black Magic", at one of his own incendiary solo gigs, or from catching him onstage with giants like Slash, Billy Gibbons, Zakk Wylde and the late, great Leslie West, among many others.
