Begin januari zag een nieuwe BE band het licht. Begin februari verscheen de eerste single. Begin maart komt er een tweede aan. Begin april is er tenslotte hun debuut EP. Laat me, om te beginnen, duidelijk maken dat H I R O wel een naar Vlaamse normen apart geluid laat horen: zéér toegankelijk en melodieus, zij het met een potige onderbouw en pakkende lyrics! Neem er de glasheldere productie van Henrik Udd (Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, …) bij en je zou zowaar van een 'Amerikaanse' sound kunnen spreken. Benieuwd of de lijn van deze eerste single wordt doorgetrokken.

Cyclothymia was written after getting hit hard in the stomach by the very emotional documentary ‘Kissed By God’, about world famous surfer Andy Irons who suffered from bipolar disease and eventually died from it. The lyrics reveal the devastating relationship between ups and downs as a result of bipolar disorder. The way the brain works when you are on a high, consciously knowing that the inevitable crash will follow, but not being able to stop it. This disease is all around us but remains taboo. Through this song we hope to be a very little cog in the immense work that needs to be done to sensitize about this disease.
In the song you can even hear conversations from the movie underneath the vocals (headphone-material!).
