En alweer heb ik deze speciaal voor onze hoofdredacteur John opgespaard voor vandaag. Doodseskader met hun nieuwe single Still Haven’t Killed Myself op de Dag des Heren. Ja hoor, dit duo deed het weer. Een gigantisch schot in de roos. Een intro om kippenvel van te krijgen om daarna meegesleurd te worden door de keiharde lyrics.
It hits hard.
Het nummer gaat dieper dan alles wat ik al van hen hoorde. De nieuwsgierigheid naar het aankomende album wordt met alvast met elk nieuw nummer groter. Wie Doodseskader live aan het werk wil zien: donderdag 2 juni spelen ze in Bar Bricolage in Gent. Ik zou zeggen, allen daarheen want het is voorlopig de enige aangekondigde show.

DOODSESKADER is the new brand of sonic terror from the minds of Tim De Gieter (Amenra, Every Stranger Looks Like You,…) and Sigfried Burroughs (Kapitan Korsakov, The K., …). After 16 years of friendship, the pair have joined forces to carve a barbarous sound like no other. Seamlessly blending the punishing nature of sludge and metal with elements reminiscent of 90’s grunge and hip hop, the aptly named DOODSESKADER successfully create a sound that is far bigger than their modest instrumentation.
