Een mailtje in mijn mailbox. De nieuwe video Des Torrents De Coups van CELESTE, met daarbij de vraag of ik daar iets mee kon doen. Ik moest niet twijfelen!
Niet dat ik de hele discografie van CELESTE ken, maar toen ik ruim een half jaar geleden begon met het actief op zoek gaan naar nieuwe bands, was CELESTE één van de eerste die mij werd aangeraden.
Misanthropes was het album die ik toen uitkoos om te beluisteren. Ik herinner me nog dat ik die band in het geel markeerde en er een groot uitroepingsteken naast zette. Ééntje om te onthouden dus!
In januari komt hun album Assassine(s) uit maar op 18 november werd het wachten al beloond met een nieuwe single en de daar bijhorende videoclip Des Torrents De Coups.
Voor fans van experimentele metal. Een perfecte ‘blend’ van doom-, sludge- en black metal. En proef ik daar ook wat post-hardcore? Uiteraard opnieuw en français. Heerlijk!

Een mooie samenvatting van hoe het aanvoelt. Een nummer die hard aankomt. De videoclip, volledig in zwart-wit, bekrachtigt dat enkel maar.
Zet allen in jullie agenda op datum van 28 januari 2022: release Assassine(s) van CELESTE!
De verwachtingen liggen hoog. Het wordt een killer van een plaat!
