YES!!!! Er is nieuw werk van één van de vetste black metalbands ever. Onze Poolse vrienden van Behemoth hebben de poorten van de hel open gezet en een nieuwe track vrijgelaten: Ov My Herculean Exile. En dat is niet het enige: ze kondigen er ook nog eens een heel nieuw album bij aan. Hun twaalfde, maar liefst.
Zanger Nergal en de zijnen, die momenteel bezig zijn aan hun Amerikaanse tour, hebben de coronaperiode goed gebruikt. Het resultaat van hun godslasterende, Satanische inspanningen ligt 16 september a.s. in de winkel en krijgt de naam Opvs Contra Natvram mee en zal in verschillende versies en materialen worden uitgebracht, waaronder twee verschillende covers: een witte en een zwarte.
Ov My Herculean Exile is dus de eerste single van dat album. Als dit een voorspelling is voor de rest, dan staat ons wel iets te wachten. Hoewel het nummer redelijk rustig en bedeesd begint, neemt de kracht langzaamaan toe en wordt de toon ook zwaarder. Gepaard gaand met deze grimmige clip, kunnen we ons hart weer erg ophalen.
Behemoth staat deze zomer op verschillende Europese festivals, waaronder Alcatraz en in het najaar gaan ze flink op pad in Europa. Dan staan ze bijvoorbeeld op 22 oktober in Den Bosch (NL) en een dag later in Brussel (B).

"The album title means going against the current,"Nergal states. "It's the negative of the values and morals and ethics that I stand against. I've seriously been wrestling with destructive tendencies in pop culture — cancel culture, social media, and tools which I feel are very dangerous weapons in the hands of people who are not competent to judge others. That's something which I find very destructive and disturbing — and extremely limiting coming from an artists' perspective. This is my middle finger to that. There's a song on the record called 'Neo-Spartacvs.' Spartacus was one of the most iconic rebels in history who went against the most powerful empire of all time. In the end, it's me screaming, 'I Am Spartacus, and so are you!' I want to spark that flame of rebellion. If something seems wrong then stand up to it!"
