Justin Young - The Vaccines @ Ancienne Belgique (Brussel, BE)
Yesterday was another sold out at AB for The Vaccines in a lively night where The Vaccines and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers delivered set the venue ablaze with their indie-rock spectacle.
Opening the night with the Aussies Teen Jesus, for whom it was the first time in Brussels, they wasted no time in captivating the audience with their infectious energy and raw talent. Frontwoman Anna Ryan led the charge, delivering a spirited performance of their own songs, featuring what they called their sexy song, and even covering Billie Eilish.
As The Vaccines took the stage, starting with their big hit Love to walk away, the venue erupted with cheers. Frontman Justin Young's charisma and sharp vocals dominated the night, backed by a tight ensemble. The setlist, a mix of old favourites and new tracks, showcased their evolution while staying true to their signature sound. The synergy among band members, highlighted by Freddie Cowan's electrifying riffs, created an immersive experience. The lighting effects enhanced the emotional impact, creating the ground for us photographers to have a great time, and guiding the audience through a sonic journey. In the end, the night was a triumph for indie rock, leaving the crowd buzzing still during the encore, and specially with the energy of their last song All my friends, that lingered even after the stage was almost all packed up.
