Idris Rahman @ Ancienne Belgique
Ill Considered's performance at Ancienne Belgique on Sunday was an intense and vibrant exploration of improvised chaotically measured jazz, deeply inspired by the legendary Pharoah Sanders. The trio—formed by Idris Rahman on saxophone, Liran Donin on bass, and Emre Ramazanoglu on drums delivered an electrifying set filled with dynamic improvisations responding to the audience energy at all times, as they stated it themselves, highlighting Rahman’s powerful sax, getting constantly close to the audience, to make them be a part of the performance as well. The group is known by their unique blend of Afrobeat and Ethio-jazz that always creates an unpredictable yet deeply engaging atmosphere in every single one of their performances.
