Crystal Fighters @ La Madeleine

Despite the change of date and venue, after Sebastian Pringle getting ill by the beginning of the year, La Madeleine was still sold out for Crystal Fighters last Wednesday. Crystal Fighters is one of those bands from which you hear their music and it automatically lifts up your mood and spirit. And they know what they’re doing while singing every word of their lyrics, always engaging the audience to sing, wave, dance and clap. The crowd got also ecstatic in a couple of occasions where both lead singers went to the barrier to sing with them. They offered a good blend of older but still great hits like the opening song “I Love London”, on “LA Calling”. They also played a new song called “Numbers”, that was equally received as the rest of the set. At the end of the performance, with some of their most known songs like Love Natural and Plage, everyone’s spirits was already to the roof. Cassia, from UK, was the guest band of the night, and although they had to deal with a half empty venue and a not so engaged crowd, their energy left them wanting for more and will on their return in April to Brussels.
