De recenste wissel in de gelederen zorgde ervoor dat gitarist Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere, Archon Angel) en drummer Marco di Salvia (Hardline) de band vervoegden. Samen met bassist Nik Mazzucconi (Labyrinth) en band oprichter en zanger/keyboardspeler/songwriter Alessandro Del Vecchio brengen ze een gekende cocktail van AOR en melodieuze metal. Deze vijfde plaat bevat twaalf nummers, die voornamelijk te danken zijn aan het schrijftalent van Alessandro maar waar ook Marco voor een tweetal nummers in de pap te brokken had. Daarnaast nam Del Vecchio ook nog productie, mixen en masteren van het album ook voor zijn rekening in de Ivorytears studio in het historische Somma Lombardo. Toch beweert hij dat de nummers een gezamenlijk resultaat van de band vormen.
En dan is het nu tijd voor wat Alessandro zei: “Sit down and enjoy how the story began, in the land of Seminole”. Het positieve Get Up Your Feet Again zorgt alvast voor de bevestiging waar we na de line-up wissel voor uitkeken. Het gaspedaal wordt meteen volledig ingedrukt. We horen vooral erg veel goesting en wilskracht in de vorm van een knap geschreven melodieus nummer. Alessandro is voor vele instrumentale bijdrages gekend, vooral bas en keyboard, maar hier zijn we nogmaals getuige dat de man ook met een gouden strot gezegend is. Aldo laat zich met harmonisch snarenwerk opmerken en alhoewel er wat gas wordt teruggenomen in het progressievere On The Other Side Of Pain, neemt hij terug de kans om zijn snarenvirtuositeit in de kijker te zetten. De klassieke hardrocknummers Shift The Paradigm en Another Salvation zijn van die nummers die het album liften. Het knap drumwerk en vingervlug fretwerk zorgt voor een mooi contrast, maar het is vooral de Italiaanse multi-instrumentalist die in de aanstekelijke refreinen vocaal serieus uit zijn pijp komt. Met stip mijn favoriet! In de fantastische power ballad Breath Of Life laat hij een meer breekbare versie van zijn stembanden horen.
De laatste vier nummers vormen in feite één geheel: Seminole. Marco Hielp de middenste stukken schijven. Samen met Alessandro heeft hij ervoor gezorgd dat elke muzikant nog eens kon uitblinken dankzij de gelaagde vocale harmonieën en stijgende refreinen met krachtige ritmes en zinderende solo's. Het vierluik vertelt een verhaal over veerkracht, doorzettingsvermogen, liefde en een positieve mentale houding, waar iedereen zich kan inleven. Dankzij vurig gitaarwerk, een ferme laag toetsen en knappe vocale prestaties, vaak gecombineerd in stevige ritmesessies, wordt een sterk album afgerond. Drie kwartier krachtige en gepassioneerde melodieuze hardrock op het scherp van de snede!

For their last album, the band should have left on tour for a few months, hitting the road with the likes of Harem Scarem, but pandemic hit and, like every other band, they were left with no gigs for a year and a half. So, the band took the time to write and dig down deep to find their best songs.
“I didn’t wanna just write another album, another batch of songs. Being a prolific songwriter makes it easy and natural for me to sit down and write, channel the inspiration and translate that idea into music and lyrics. But Edge Of Forever is different for me. It’s my island where I don’t wanna just write songs that I sing. I want to tell stories that can inspire people to reach their goals, live for their dreams, face adversities, and win over all the odds that life throws at us. “Native Soul” could have easily been a solo record since I wrote it with a band torn apart by personal issues. Then I was lucky when Nik, Aldo, and Marco entered the picture and I could turn it into such a strong album. Still, today I pride myself on “Native Soul”, but when I put myself in my EOF-mode for “Seminole”, I wrote every single note for my bandmates. I wanted them to shine and have a blueprint where they could weave our canvas with their personality and definitively be themselves. They were the main drive and inspiration to write these songs and I can’t thank them enough for making these songs what they have become now. We pushed everything beyond our limits: songwriting, production, arrangements, performances, but especially what we delivered in all songs is beyond, beyond us, beyond what was my vision was when I wrote these songs. “Seminole” is a conceptual album about my life, everybody’s life. I tell the story through the lenses of a Seminole warrior and how from a defeat you can still come out stronger and even more resilient, only if you want to. Sit down and enjoy how my story began, in the land of the Seminole…” says Alessandro Del Vecchio.
